Kalpana Raghavendar, the renowned playback singer, was found unconscious at her home in
Rangareddy, Telangana, on March 4, Tuesday. The 44-year-old singer was promptly rushed
to a nearby hospital after being discovered in a critical state. Her condition has since
stabilized, and she is receiving the necessary medical treatment.
Authorities reported that the KPHB police station received an emergency call from the
apartment committee around 5 pm. Upon arrival, the officers found the door to her apartment
locked. However, through the kitchen window, they noticed Kalpana lying unconscious on her
bed. The police and medical responders quickly transported her to Holistic Hospital in an
ambulance. Her husband arrived by 6 pm.
Doctors have stated that her condition is now stable, and she is receiving appropriate care.
The KPHB police confirmed that no case has been registered, and further details regarding
the cause of the incident are still pending.
Kalpana, known for her significant contributions to the Indian music industry, has sung several
popular songs in various languages. Some of her most famous tracks include
"Navamoorthulainatti" from Intinta Annamayya and "Pogiren" from 36 Vayadhinile, for which
she won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer.
