North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has declared the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology for military drones as a top priority for modernizing the nation’s armed forces. Recent state media reports show Kim overseeing tests of new multipurpose attack and reconnaissance drones, highlighting their rising importance in North Korea's military strategy. The tests demonstrated the drones’ combat effectiveness, with Kim expressing strong approval and urging for rapid advancement in AI capabilities integrated into unmanned aerial vehicles. 

Kim emphasized that drones are becoming a “major military activity asset” and ordered an acceleration of drone production and AI research efforts.
